Tango for Winds is a tribute to the great Argentinian composer Astor Piazzolla. The piece has three movements which merge into one another. The first and third movements contain two contrasting themes supported by a fixed rhythm in the percussion section. The second movement is slow; a melancholic melody is introduced by the flute and later taken over by the oboe, clarinet, horn and trumpet.
